A FAREWELL
TE HORO TEACHER
•*A large gathering of parents and scholars of Te Horo School met recently to bid farewell to Mrs. Savage, the infant mistress, who is leaving to tike up a similar position at Tawa FJat. ;Mr. White-Scott (headmaster) said he greatly regretted losing Mrs. Savage, as she was efficient and conscientious, and her work was of a very high standard.
; Mr. Cottle (chairman) voiced the regret of the committee... The imothers, h£ said, never worried about sending their children-to school in any kind of weather, for they knew there was another mother awaiting them at the ehd of. their'journey to minister to tjieir every comfort He had • great pleasure in presenting Mrs. Savage With a handbag from the children and a; cheque from the parents. ; Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Spiers added tributes ( to Mrs. Savage's work, and said she'.could always bring out the b'egt in the child, the singing, dramatic, and cultural subjects being of a Very high standard. The little niceties Of life, too, were' fostered by her.
«Mrs. Savage replied in an appreciative speech,' especially thanking the parents, who had been very kind to her and to her children during their stay at Te Horo.
