GRAND NATIONAL STAKES
For its Grand National Meeting this year the Canterbury Jockey Club has increased its stakes over the three days from £10,000 to £10,675. The stake for the Grand National Steeplechase has been increased to £1500 and that for the Winter Cup to £750, but the Grand National Hurdles prize rev mains at £1025.
The value of the New Zealand Derby Stakes, entries for which have closed, has been raised from £1250 to £1500, thus bringing it back to the level prior to 1932.
