REVJSING OTTAWA

AUSTRALIA'S OBJECT

DELEGATION IN LONDON

LEADER EXPLAINS

IBritisi) Official Wireless.? (Received April 30, 1 p.m.)

RUGBY, April 29:

A delegation representing the Australian Government which will discuss trade questions with the British Government has arrived in London. «

In a statement to the Press the leader of the delegation (Sir Earle Page) said that the primary reason for the visit was to discuss revision of the Ottawa Agreement, which was made in the depths of the depression and was designed not only to stimulate intra-Empire trade, which it had done, but also to serve as a stepping stone towards revival of inter-Imperial trade as a whole. What they desired was an agreement which would retain the advantageous factors so far as the Empire was concerned, while giving greater opportunities for negotiating trade agreements with other countries.
