WOMEN ADDRESSED
CITIZENS' CANDIDATES'
VIEWS
Women were addressed on Thursday afternoon in Nimmo's Hall by Citizens' candidates, the Mayor presiding.
Mr. Hislop stressed the importance of the elections in view of the choice of those to be in office during the Centennial celebrations. His opponent and those supporting him were without^ a programme, and were merely out "to secure control for one section of the people.
Miss A. G. Kane said that the ratepayers should be represented on the Hospital Board. The huge building scheme asked too much of the citizens.
Mrs. Knox Gilmer said that the present children's hospital was in the wrong place, and a new one was wanted to provide happy surroundings.
The Rev. F. J. Usher and Messrs. W. Appleton and W. J. Mason also addressed the assembled ladies, and at the close of the meeting a women's committee was formed to further the Citizens' candidates' interests,
