The Dannevirke Racing Clubs Annual Meeting opened on the Woodville course in dull weather, the tracK being soft after heavy rain overnight. Although the fields were of excellent strength, the volume of betting showed a substantial decrease, the sum of £7199 10s being handled, compared with £9372 last year, a decline of £2172 10s. . ~ .
