NGAROMA CROQUET CLUB

The closing of the season of Ngaroma Croquei Club was attended by a good number of members and honorary members.

" Competitions, held during the after.noon, were won by Mesdames Veitch, Holland, McCawe, and Anderson, Norton Smith, honorary memßers, prizes for which were given by Mesdames Kerr and McCawe and Fox! Afternoon tea was served in the spacious pavilion, the tables being gay with dahlias in pink and brown.

The president (Mrs. Franks), in complimenting the club on a very successful season, presented the trophies. The winners were as follows: —A champion, Mrs. Galvin; intermediate, Mrs. McKay; B champion, Mrs. Roberts; championship doubles, Mrs. Galvin and Mrs. Veitch; Castle Cup, Mrs. Galvin; run-ner-up Castle Cup, Mrs. J. Millar; Wilkinson Cup, Mrs. J. Millar and Mrs. Pickard;runners-up Wilkinson Cup, Mrs. Sargisson and Mrs. Roberts; handicap doubles, Mrs. Martin and Mrs. A. Millar; junior doubles, Mrs. McAdam and Mrs. Graham; runners-up, junior doubles, Mrs. Frame and Mrs. Hutchison; Palmer Star, Mrs. Russell; Wilkinson Brooches, Mrs. Galvin and Mrs. J. Millar; Palmer Ferns, Mrs. McAdam and Mrs. Graham; intermediate mallet, Mrs. Pickard; May Brooch, Mrs. Holland.

The most improved C player, Miss McHattie, received Mrs. Franks's trophy.

Presentations were also made to the president, captain, vice-captain, treasurer, and secretary for their services during the past season.
