The first.round of the Takapu Cup competition, played between Otaki and Levin at Otaki on Wednesday, resulted in a win for the home team by 5J games to 2J. Individual results are as follows, Levin players being mentioned firs t:_ Miss Kerr (8) beat Mrs Anderson (19); Mrs. Mackenzie (13) lost to Miss Harper (21)? Miss Hernck (15) beat Mrs. Thornton (22); Mrs. Denton (18) lost to Miss Swainson (22); Mrs. Astley (18) halved with Dr. Atmore (26); Miss Robson (19) .lost to Mrs Sutherland (27); Mrsi Nicholson (19) lost to Mrs. Benge (28;; Mrs. Black (24) lost to Miss Reed (30). On Wednesday next a Coronation medal round and Aotea Cup competition will be played
