. The annual meeting of the .Wellington City Anglican^ Young. '.Women's Club was held in the clubroom, Courtenay Place, when there was a full attendance. ' Mrs. Wallis, who has acted as president, was in" the chair, and also present was Mrs. St. Barbe Holland (who ' was > unanimously re-elected president for. the .ensuing year) and Mesdames Gaby, Coley, Hammond, and Wilkinson. . . .
The report and balance-sheet, read by Miss Lyon, and which were duly adopted, showed a very satisfactory position,' indicating that the club had worked steadily and faithfully during the year, and had gained a considerable number of new members. As a result of the Lenten self-denial appeal, £5 was sent to the St. Barnabas Babies' Home; the club also sent £11 5s to the Board of Missions in support of Miss Steven,. of North China; also £3 15s 8d contributed by members of ths Bible Study Circle, who meet on Sunday afternoons; was forwarded to the Maori Mission Board.
The vice-presidents elected comprised Mesdames Wallis, Gaby, Coley, Cooper, Hammond, Lambeth, Wilkinson, and Williamson. ' Misses. Watson and Lyon were re-elected chairman and secretary respectively, and Miss D. Collins was re-elected treasurer; social reporter. Miss F. .., Sims. The committee appointed, comprised Misses Charles, Goetzlof, W. Wilkinson, Robin-, son, and TObin. On behalf of all present, Miss Watson, in presenting Mrs. Holland with a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums, expressed the very great pleasure it save thorn to have Mrs. Holland with them at the gathering. In expressing the sentiments of the club the speaker extended sympathy to Mrs. Holland in connection with the recent motor accident which befell the Bishop, and sincerely hoped he would be soon restored to health. Sympathy was expressed with the relatives of the late Mrs. Richards, a vicepresident, who passed away recently. Regret was also expressed at the loss of Mrs. Percival James, a vice-president, owing to her departure for England, but all present wished her continued happiness in-her new;sphere of work. During the evening songs.were rendered by Misses Mclntosh and N. Wilkinson, also a humorous sketch by Miss Ellison. Supper was handed round at the close of the proceedings.
