JOHNSONVILLE MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Johnsonville branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Masonic Hall, Brook Street. Although the weather was very unfavourable, there were 40 members present. Mrs. Mcßride presided, and opened the meeting with the league hymn and prayer. A \yartn welcome was given Mrs. Roberts, who brought greetings from the Nga Hap a branch. Arrangements were made fur a church parade at the Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning, May 1-.
■ Mrs. McWhinnie sang three delightful solos, and recitations were given by Miss Annette Sloane. Mrs. Mason played the accompaniments. The thought for the month, "A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he. who plants kindness gathers love," was given by Mrs. Jepson. .
The speaker for the afternoon, Miss Magill, was unavoidably delayed, and was unable to give her address, but arrangements were made for her to speak at the June meeting. Afternoon tea was served.
