The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry), who underwent an operation at Auckland a fortnight ago, is expected to resume his duties in Auckland next week. His return to Wellington is not yet definite.

Mr. H. Tutawhiao, who has been a member of the Waiata Maori Choir for six years, returned from the Australian and English tour of the choir by the Rangitane today, accompanied by his wife, also a member of the choir. The remaining members of the party are "returning by the Rotorua, due at New Zealand in about a month.

Paymaster Lieutenant-Commander G. H. Ashby, R.N., who has been stationed in H.M.S. Exmouth, a flotilla leader in the Home Fleet, as secretary to the captain, arrived from England today by the Rangitane to join H.M.S. Achilles as secretary to the Commodore of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.

The Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., Dominion president of the New Zealand Defence League, accompanied by Mrs. Perry, left Wellington last night by the Limited express for Auckland, en route to Australia, where, in Sydney, he is to lead the New Zealand contingent of returned soldiers in the specially-organised Anzac Day parade. Mr. and Mrs. Perry were given a rousing farewell oh the station, the gathering including a full attendance of the committee of the Wellington branch of the league, whose president, Mr. W. H. Barnard, presented Mr. Perry with an autograph album. Mrs. Perry received a bouquet, which was presented to her by Mrs. A. R. Smith, secretary of the ladies' committee of the league.

The Rev. H. F. Harding, of Christchurch, who has been in England for nearly six years, returned to. New Zealand by the Rangitane today to become vicar of St. Chad's, Linwood, Christchurch. Mr. Harding spent two years at Cambridge, was ordained in London, and spent three and a half years in a West End slum parish.

Mr. G. R. Ritchie, a director of the Union Steam Ship Company, arrived in Wellington from the south this morning.

Squadron-Leader E. G. , Olson, R.N.Z.A.F.,. has been selected to command the R.N.Z.A.F. base at Hobsonville, and will proceed there on handing over control of the R.N.Z.A.F.. station at Wigram to Squadron-Leader G. S. Hodson, R.A.F., who has arrived from England on exchange.

Mr. V. M. Walker, of the London office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived by the Rangitane today on a visit to .New Zealand.
