FLOWER SHOW

UPPER HUTT WOMEN

There was a very good attendance at the April** meeting of the Upper Hutt Women's Institute on Tuesday, >Mrs. Spencer, president, being in the chair. Remits* to the annual conference will be considered next week. It was decided in future to meet at St. Hilda's Sunday School room. A very successful flower show wa» held, and Mrs. Knox Gilmer, who acted as judge, gave a delightful talk on°the gardens she had visited in different parts of the world during her recent trip abroad. She was heartily applauded and presented with a dainty spray. Mrs. Spencer won. the competition lor the thrift article, -and-Mrs. Braid was second, and Mrs. Roiitley came first ■ and Mrs. Edwards second for mustard pickles. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses.
