MORE TRAMS TO GO

When the' London Transport Board, which controls all the varied means of transportation throughout Greater London, and for some miles beyond that radius, sent its cheque for £500,000 to the County Council in payment of its annual licence fees for all these vehicles, it stated that this year a further 60 miles of tram lines in London are to disappear. Already more than a hundred miles of tram lines have been taken up, and the ensuing benefit has fully justified the change. Brighton recently held a poll of its residents on the subject of trams and by 12,000 to 1000 decided in favour of discarding trams and installing trolley buses.
