A GOOD YEAR

TATTERSFIELD, LTD.

The profit of £18,146 earned by Tattersfield, Ltd., carpet and bedding manufacturers, in its past trading year was a record, according to a statement by the chairman, Mr. J. W. Tattersfield, at the annual meeting. Mr. Tattersfield sounded a note of warning, because none of the directors felt that the profit should be taken as a criterion of the future earnings of the company: Shareholders must all be aware that the directors were faced with most difficult problems. The outlook was obscure, with the possibility that it would be hard work to maintain turnover. He was confident, however, that the company would maintain its turnover in proportion to the general trading conditions of New Zealand. Depreciation of plant had been as generous as usual. They were now beginning to reap the benefit of years of moderate dividends and sound depreciations. He thanked his co-directors and the secretary, Mr; C. C. Ewen, for their work during his absence in England for part of the year. The report and' balance-shest were adopted. The retiring directors, Messrs. L. W. Tattersfield and J. N. Tattersfield, were re-elected.
