MR. J.F LILLICRAP

The death has occurred after a long illness of Mr. John Frederick Lillicrap, who over a long period played a prominent part in the civic and legal life of InvercargilL He was a member of the borough council from 1901 to 1906 and again from 1909 to 1921 and was Mayor from 1921 to 1923. As a young man he was a member of the fnyercargill- Literary and Debating Society and for seven years secretary of the Law Society. Mr. Lillicrap was chairman of the first committee which considered the formation of the Southland Motor Association, of which he was president for a term. He married Miss Catherine Annie Wilson, daughter of Mr. Robert Wilson, Heaton Park, Rangitikei, by whom he is survived. He is Burvived also by one son, John Lillicrap, and one daughter, Mrs. Eric Drew,/iPalmerston North. • . ' : '
