HOSTILITIES AGAINST COMMUNISM

The Italian Ambassador called at the Foreign Ministry to ask that the Japanese nation be informed that Italy was united behind Signer Mussolini and would support to the full Japan's action in China, which was simply to exercise the right of self-defence. The newspaper "Asahi Shimbun" features a telephone conversation with its Rome correspondent, who states that Italy will afford Japan military aid if the hostilities in China develop into a war against Communism. Herr Hitler is also prepared to support her to the extent of sacrificing German rights in China.
