LONDON, October 10. The leader of the British Union of Fascists, Sir Oswald Mosley, was
knocked out at a Fascist open-air meeting at Liverpool. Hundreds of missiles were flung immediately he stood up to give an address through a loud-speaker on a van. A large stone hit him on the temple, and he fell semi-conscious.
Mounted police charged the crowd, and several arrests were mad^.
Sir Oswald Mosley was sent to hospital suffering from concussion and a punctured wound on his skull. An operation was successful, and no anxiety is felt at present. Over twenty persons were injured by stones. The crowd tried to rush the van of Mr. G. C. Balfour, director of the Fascists at Liverpool, who is in hospital with a head wound and an injured shoulder. He was stoned when speaking from the van before Sir Oswald Mosley's arrival.
