SOCIAL EVENING

CHESHIRE ASSOCIATION

A full attendance of, members of the New Zealand Cheshire Association and a large number of their friends made the social evening held by the association in the Blind Institute Hall on Wednesday a very happy occasion. Representatives of kindred societies were among the guests and were made very

welcome.

A large shield bearing the crest of the society, was hung at the head of the hall, and cards, bordered with the society's colours and bearing the names of towns and villages in the county of Cheshire were fixed round the walls.

Some delightful musical items were given by Mrs. Constance Fuller, Mr. and Mrs.'F. X. Dickinson, Mrs. Southward, and Mr. H. Dibley. Miss Jeane Coker caused much amusement with her humorous monologues, arid Miss Betty Paynter gave an exhibition tap dance. The accompanist was Mrs. F, X. Dickinson, who also played for the dancing. Competitions were won by Mrs. Southward, Mrs. Badland, and Mr. Chambers. An excellent supper was served, and a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the social committee, which had made such excellent arrangements. These evenings are to be a feature of the New Zealand Cheshire Association's activities in the future.
