VISIT OF MR. GIELGUD

His Excellency the Govcrn'or-General (Lord Galway) has consented to open the proceedings of the Dominion Council of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, at Its headquarters, on Thursday, September 23, and to welcome Mr. L. E. Gielgud, Under-Secretary of the League of Red Cross Societies. Members of the centre will meet Mr. Gielgud on arrival and the Mayor will tender him a civic retfeptioh at the Concert Chamber at noon, and a complimentary luncheon will follow. In the evening a public lecture on Red Ci'oss work will be given. During Mr. Gielgud's three days' stay visits will be paid to phases of Red Cross activity.
