able to shop in comfort. Most shopkeepers will tell you that their Saturday morning business has increased by 33 1-3 per cent, to 50 per cent., with hardly any difference to the Friday evening trade. It is only common sense that if the shops are closed all day on Saturdays some portion of the money usually spent with shops would be spent in other directions and for which the spenders will have nothing to show for their money. After all the shops serve a public convenience just as much as the tramways and railways, so why not LEAVE WELL ALONE.
