(By Telegraph—Press Association.) • CHRISTCHURCH, September 8. Small entries and sharp advances marked the fat stock market today at Addington. Store Sheep.—A small entry. Good young ewes sold to 38s and a pen of ewes and lambs, all counted, 22s 4d. Wethers sold at 345. Coarse woolled ewes were in more request than fine wools. Few spring lambs were forward, and the best sold from 36s to 395. Fat Sheep.—A small ' entry, fewer than 4000 head, and a jump in the price for best wethers of from 3s 6d to 4s, best ewes to 2s 6d, and inferior sorts to a small extent. Extra prime heavy wethers sold to 54s lOd, prime heavy 41s to 455, prime medium weight 36s to 40s, medium 30s to 355. extra prime heavy ewes to 46s Id; prime heavy 33s to ' 37s 6d, prime medium weight 29s to 32s 6d, ordinary 24s to 275. . . Fat Cattle.—A small entry of 425 head, with a small proportion of prime steers. These jumped in price by 30s a head and a fair amount of beef exceeded 40s per 1001b, the best making from 39s to 425, and in some cases a little more; good made from 36s to 38s 6d,. ordinary 32s 6d to 35s 6d, and inferior down to 275; extra prime heavyweight steers to £20 17s 6d, prime heavy £16 to £18, prime medium weights £14 15s to £16 10s, ordinary £11 to £14; best heifers to £15 2s 6d, good £11 to £12 10s, others £6 to £10; best cows to £14 17s 6d, medium to prime £9 to £11, others down to £6. Vealers: A strong sale, good runners showing an improvement. Runners, £4 10s to £9; vealers, £2 15s to £5; calves, 20s to £2 14s. Store Cattle.—A slow sale, there being little demand from graziers. Dairy Cows. —A good sale for a few fair sorts; forward, best made to £9. Fat Pigs.—Another keen sale for the very ordinary quality penning, there being an improvement in values. Porkers made from 35s 6d to £3 10s Gd: average price per Ib, 7Jd to 8d; .baconers made £3 lls 6d to £6 Is, average price per 1b 6Jd to 73d. Store Pigs.—The heaviest, entry of the season, but values were well maintained. Weaners, 13s to 21s, slips 18s to 245, stores 25s to 34«.
