MRS. DAVID JONES
Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Jones/wife of | Mr. David' Jones, a former Minister of | Agriculture in the Coalition Government, died in Wellington on Tuesday. Mrs. Jones was married in 1898, her maiden name being Miss Maginness. She was a daughter of Mr. John Maginness and a sister of Mr. George Maginness, formerly clerk to the Paparua County Council. For many years she lived with her husband at Dunsandel, but they went to Christchurch later, where Mrs. Jones was a well-known worker for the Methodist Church. She often lent her home in Bryndwyr for church gatherings, and for the, work of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women, of which her daughter, Miss Ellen Jones, was a prominent member. Mr. and Mrs. Jones came to Wellington about two years ago, and they have lived here since. There are four daughters, Mrs. A. W. Leithead, Christchurch, Misses Ellen, Hilda, and M. Jones, and one son, Mr. David Jones, Dunsandel.
