BOXING RULES

CHANGES INTRODUCED

BRADDOCK-LOUIS BOUT

CHICAGO, June 16.

The State Boxing Commission. has adopted a radical change hi the socalled 10-second rule for the world heavyweight boxing match between James Braddock and Joe Louis.

A boxer formerly, whether floored inside or outside the ring, had 10 seconds in which to regain fighting-pos-ture, but under the change he will have 20 seconds to regain fighting posture unassisted within the ring in the event of being knocked out of or falling out of the ring. , Other changes in the rules have been made to prevent the famous long count which marred the Jack DempseyGene Tunney match in 1927.

A special ring will also be used, measuring 22ft square within the ropes. Braddock and Louis did not train today.
