ALLEGED TORTURE
GERMAN IN CZECHOSLOVAK
PRISON

BERLIN, June 17.
The Press gives prominence, with veiled threats of reprisal, to the alleged torture of a German, Bruno Weigel, in a Czechoslovak prison in Prague.
Weigel was arrested and is alleged to have been tortured because he refused to give information about Nazi activities in Czechoslovakia. He was released without explanation.
The Press says that the soles of his feet were beaten with rubber truncheons and electricity applied to them, He was told he and his wife would be condemned to death.
