ONE-ACT PLAYS
Twelve one-act plays were presented on Wednesday night and last night, at the competitions sponsored .by the Christian Youth .Council of Wellington. I The results were as follows:—Taranaki Street Methodist ("Twentieth Century Lullaby"). 1; Knox Presbyterian ("Lets Build Again"), 2;: Vivian Street Baptist ("Rio Itevuelto") y 3. Highly commended: ? St. A , John's Presbyterian ("Wireless Can^Lte"),^ cator. Mr. Errol Muir, stated that ; the winning play was outstanding; Careful work by all the cast resulted^ continuity where that was difficult to achieve; Possibly the 'IriexperJence.of the cast in "Let's Build .Again -told somewhat in the actual perlormancer as "the play lacked the finish of the; winnlng, t pto He remarked that "Rio Revjielto" had been written by a yo^g Wellington, man, Mr. G. Windsor, who undoubtedly possessed the makings,of ..a, 3uccessful playwright: Mr. Muir paid a special tribute to the acting of Miss M: Parton in "Wireless Can't Lie." stating that It was the outstanding Individual performance of the series. The competition festival contmues .tonight and tomorrow night, concluding with a demonstration concert Jn the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall on jSaturday, June 26. .
