Otaki Women's Institute.

Mrs. Hopkins presided at the; June meeting of tlie Otaki Women's Institute; There was1 a good Attendance of.members and visitors.

Mrs. Weenink, as delegate to the recent federation meeting .read her report. A demonstration on leather work was given by Mrs. Green, Manakau. Competitions resulted as follows: —Scotch shortbread, Mrs. K. Taylor 1 and Miss Brialey 2; knitted singlet, Miss Black 1 and Miss Manz 2. The raffle was won by Mrs. D. Taylor. A presentation was made to Mrs. Dickson, a committee member, who is leaving the district. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Beattie, Jacobs, L. Power, Tew, G. Whyte, and Miss Black. *

Victoria League.

There will be a meeting of members] of the senior and junior branches of the Victoria League on Monday, at the league room in the D.I.C. to consider the advisability of combining the two branches. This will take place at 7.30 ' in. the evening. ' j

Townswomen's Guild.

The Arts and Crafts Circle of the Townswomen's Guild recently held a very enjoyable afternoon in the Victoria League Room. Mrs. Pow ' proposed the hearty vote of thanks which was accorded to Mrs. Herron for her interesting demonstration and informa-1 tive address on tapestry work. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Wray. Among those present were Mrs. Bradstock, Mrs. R. McCracken, Mrs. L. Watson, Mrs. Farmer, Mrs. JKinsman, and Mrs.-Grottier..
