Aero Club Evening.

The Wanganui Aero Clubhouse was a cheery place on Tuesday, when members and friends met for a socialevening. Music, and dancing passed the hours very happily. Among those present were Mrs. L. Shepherd, Misses J. and V. Winstone, D. Sullivan, J; Coombe, B. Babbage. E. Neilson, P. Hackshaw, M. Whilians, J. Willis, M. Peck; E. Horrocks, Messrs. J. Strauchon, K. Congrieve, H. Mason, G. Rogers, McDonald (2), Tarrant, H. Jarvie, S. Gilkinson. '

Wanganui Technical College.

The school colours —blue and white, and Iceland, poppies were used ;. to decorate the -tea tables ■: when the Wanganui Technical College Old Girls' Association held tiieir reunion tea and annual' meeting. Miss B. Key was elected president; vice-president, ?Miss M. Sewell; hon. secretary, Mrs. R. A. Goodley; committee, Misses V. Madeley, M. Stanfield, K. Waters, R. Meyer, and E. Siddall.

Parties for a Bride.

Miss Nancy Whitlock, whose marriage will be solemnised on Saturday, has been the guest of honour at -.everal farewell parties. About 40 guests met at the Methodist Church Hall at Wanganui East, when Mesdames Lower and W. J. Andrew were hostesses. Competitions and items filled a pleasant afternoon, and everyone enjoyed seeing the pretty and useful gifts brought by each guest. Miss Florence Ellis was another hostess at a gift party; and Mrs. Howard Whitlock arranged a "first-aid" afternoon.

Presentations.

Two Ohingaiti women, prominent in W.D.F.U., Women's Institute, and Drama circles, Mesdames P. Earle and P. Wereta, were the guests of honour in the Town Hall social room recently Both were presented with gifts from the women of the .district, Mrs. L. E. Weston, president of the Women's Institute, presenting one gift, and Mrs. T. Stewart, president of the W.D.F.U., presenting the other, Mr. A. Charles, on behalf of the men of the Drama Grouf>, made a presentation to Mrs. Earle. ,

Mrs. Wereta will make her home at Rata, and Mrs. Earle at Turakina.

Tennis Dance.

The Wanganui East Lawn Tennis Club combined a dance evening with the presentation of prizes won during the last season. The occasion was; a very happy one, and a large number, was present. The committee responsible comprised the following:—Mesdames J. S. Johnstone (convener) of the social committee), Langbein, Burston, Misses G. Wilson, L. Eide (hon. secretary), Wakeley, -Messrs. W. Walpole (president), H. Bain (treasurer), W, Caldwell, A. Henry, A. Williamson.
