TE RAPA IMPROVEMENTS
Improvements -to the ,Te Rapa racecourse, to provide spectators immedi-; ately in front of the main stand wilh a better view of the racing, have been begun shortly and is expected •to be ing Club. The work, which will be decided upon by the Waikato Raccompleted in August, comprises the shifting of about 4000 cubic yards of soil to form a grassy bank, two chains long, sloping up to'the main stand from approximately half-way down the enclosure. Spectators standing well back in' th c i flat; enclosure were formerly given orily.a fleeting view of the horses, but in,future, they will see almost as well as those •in the stand. The soil will :be taken from a bluff which shuts the barrier for mile, and a half, races from the '= view of people in the stand.
