PAEKAKARIKI CLUB

The fourth annual meeting of the Paekakariki Club was held last Saturday, when a report on the season's activities was presented to members. The report stated that keen interest had been taken in the game by members, and their efforts had led to the installation of a motor mower, without any call on the club's funds. The club took part in the country pennant competition, and secured second place. The club competitions were won by the following:— . Champion singles, L. McAvoy; champion pairs. J. Lindsay and L. McAvoy; singles tournament, A. Nicol. Since the close of the . season the green has been top-dressed, and it is expected that it will be in excellent condition next summer.

The following officers were elected: — Patron, Sir Charles Norwood; president, Mr. J. Firth; vice-president, Mr. P. J. McArdle: hon. secretary, Mr. J, Lindsay; hon. treasurer. Mr. A. J.
