HUTT POWER BOARD

The meeting'of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday afternoon was presided over by Mr. A. W. Press.

The following comparisons of power sales during April and May were given by the engineer and general manager (Mr. E. F. Hollands), the figures for the corresponding period last year being in parentheses:—Availability rate, domestic lighting, heating, and cooking, £11,305 12s 5d (£12,358 lis); commercial lighting, £2125 8s lOd (£2143 4s 4d>; water heating, £2030 lis 9d (£1936 15s 4d); power, £1804 8s lOd (£2634 17s'lld); totals (discount deducted), £15,525 16s lld (£16,124 lis 6d), a decrease of £598 14s 7d.

Mr. Hollands said the reason for the drop in power sales was that some industrial consumers at this stage changed from monthly to quarterly accounts.
