WRESTLING AT KILBIRNIE
The Kilbirnie Wrestling Club held its monthly gymnasium entertainment before a large crowd on Wednesday night. The spectators enjoyed a fine programme of wrestling, vaudeville, and boxing, a feature being the Jenkins Troupe's display of acrobatics and hand-to-hand balancing. Those who contributed vaudeville items were Miss D. Atkins, Mr. W. Symonds, Miss N. Smith, and Master Keith Major. The boxing exhibition by pupils of Johnny Leckie was also very popular. Tha inter-club wrestling bouts resulted:— S. Delands (K.) beat K. Mahoney (John.); D. Warner (K.) drew with C. Farrell (Island Bay); K. Ruby (K.) beat W. Cammish (Island Bay); J. Prestney (K.) drew with L. Mahoney (John.); C. Twohill (K.) lost to W. Russell (Island Bay); G. McDonald (K.) drew with R. Allen (Lack's); T. Murrell (Island Bay) drew with C. Teague (K.); R. Hutchinson beat S. Bradley; H. Compton (K.) beat H. Craig (Petone); S. Alcock 'X.) bent Hislop .Petone).
