VITAL MATCH TOMORROW
The senior A grade first division Rugby football championship in Wellington has reached a point at which gome of the events are likely to have an Important bearing upon the ultimate result of _he competition. The leaders, Athletic, improved their adr vantage last Saturday, but. they have still to meet teams expected to glva them their hardest battles. Poneke, always a danger, are to mako their bid against tbe leaders tomorrow at Athletic Park, ahd it Is expected to be a strong one, So far Athletic are undefeated, and, led by. the New Zealand representative, J. Wells, they will be doing their utmost tomorrow, to maintain that fine record, Poneke will havo last year* New Zealand captain, J, L. Griffiths, tp lead them in a,match which to them will be as important as a championship final. From a championship point.of view, much depends upon this match, but there is also lhe form of players to be considered in the light of big eyente to come, There are still chances for players to gain nomination for the trials, and there is some very likely talei' In the Athletic and Poneke teams, from which so far only one player, Wells, has been nominated. The match will have an entertaining; preliminary in the meeting of the Eastbourne and Poneke seventh grade teams.
