VALENCIA, June 17.

It is officially announced that an internal explosion, the cause of which is not known, occurred on the loyalist battleship Jaime 1 at Cartagena.

In addition to over 100 members of the crew who were injured and admitted to hospital, 18 bodies have been recovered. It is feared that other members of the crew were killed. This will be discovered when the flames are extinguished.
