FATAL ACCIDENT

CHILD IMPALED ON STICK

An unusual accident, which resulted in the death o# a child some hours later, occurred at Seatoun on Monday. It is understood that the child, Audrey Mary Murphy, aged 7 years 11 months, was on her way home from school in the afternoon with companions. While playing, she fell down a bank, and was impaled on a stick used for the training of flowers. Medical attention proved to be without avail, and the child died the following morning. An inquest is to be-held tomorrow before the Coroner, Mr. E. Gilbertson.
