LONDON, June 16.

The by-election for the Drake division of Plymouth, necessitated by the death ol: the sitting member, Captain the lU. Hon. F. E Guest, C.8.E., D.5.0., resulted:—

Licut.-Colonel the Hon. H. Guest (National Conservative) 15,778 G. T. Gairalt (Labour) 11,044 Lieutenant-Colonel Guest is a brother of the former member. The result in the Drake electorate at the last General Election was:— Captain Guest 21,446 J. J. H. Moses (Labour) 15,308 Lieut.-Colonel the Hon. H. Guest- is the second son of the first Baron Wimborne. He was educated at Eton and entered the Army. He was Liberal member for East Dorset in 1910, Pembroke Burghs from 1910 to 1918, and National Liberal member for North Bristol from 1922 to 1923. Lieut-Col-onel Guest was Parliamentary Secretary to Mr. Charles. Hobhouse, a former Postmaster-General.
