AMERICAN CAPITAL

INVESTMENTS IN CANADA

KINGSTON, Juno 18.

Canadian speakers at th,e Pan-Am-erican Conference stated that the compelling reason why the United States should adopt a helpful policy towards Canada was America's investment of 4,000,000;000 dollars in the Dominion.

They said that, paradoxically, the Ottawa pacts increased United Slates investments by causing the establishment of American plants in Canada.

Concern was expressed over the diversion to Canada of investments by Americans who are alarmed by the New Deal policies. It is explained that this flow has increased Canada's vulnerability in order to meet interest and dividends and also in the event of a large recall of capital to the United States..
