BOOKING FOR SPRINGBOKS
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—The booking for the first Test New Zealand v.' Springboks will no doubt take place shortly. Whilst there is time might I suggest to the officials of the New Zealand Rugby Union the. advisability of them numbering the queue so that anyone sending down their office boys to wait for two or three tickets would like to be assured that absolute fairness will be practised. This can only be given effect to by someone in authority giving those waiting an official number and serving those in the queue in that order.
Moreover, it would have another advantage to any person paying a substitute that he would not be wasting his money and the person's time for waiting for something that is not available. For instance, if there are 1000 tickets available for the general public (the non-season ticket holder like myself), and if each person is allowed to book, say, four tickets, anyone would easily see whether it is any use his waiting or not, because a person after number 250 would be waiting in vain. I think the public would like to have a statement on this matter from the New Zealand Rugby Union. I might state that the queue was numbered in Dunedin this season when they waited all night for the Otago-Southland annual big match there. Our local union could easily do likewise. —I am, etc.,
AVOID A SCRUM.
