"WAIKIKI WEDDING."
Bing Crosby, Bob' Burns, and Martha Raye, a trio of specialists in the art of music and comedy, have been cast by Paramount in the leading roles of "Waikiki Wedding," a gay musical comedy set against a background of the gem of the Pacific, Honolulu, incorporating the magnificent scenic beauty of tropic skies, rolling waters, and palm trees. Beautiful Shirley Ross, who was with Burns and Martha Raye in "The Big Broadcast of 1937," carries the feminine romantic lead of the new comedy. The cast also includes George Barbier, Leif Erikson, Miri Rei, the Tahitian dancer who was the sensation of the Ziegfeld Follies, Kuulei and Nalani De Clerq, native Hawaiian dancers, musicians, and other performers. "Waikiki Wedding" is the story of a Press agent, played by Crosby, whose job it is to keep Miss Ross thrilled with the glamour of Hawaii, to where she has been brought from New York as the winner of a beauty competition.
