WEDDING

HAY—WALKER.

The was solemnised at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Karori, recently of Winifred Eva, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Walker, Karori, and Gilbert Samuel, elder son of Captain and Mrs. R. J. Hay, Stoke, Nelson. The Rev. F. AY. Kempthorne officiated and the service was fully choral, the bride having been a member of the choir for some time.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming gown of parchment chiffon velvet, cut on simple princess lines, with a medicx collar, tight-fitting sleeves, and a long train. Her veil was of parchment tulle embroidered at each corner, and was worn with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a-bouquet of white chrysanthemums and freesias.

The bridesmaids, Miss Margaret Hay (chief), Miss Audrey Thorns, and Miss Betty Lowery, wore, frocks of Coronation red chiffon velvet cut on similar lines to that of the bride, and carried bouquets of bronze chrysanthemums.Chaplets of smaller bronze chrysanthemums were worn in the hair.

Mr. R. B. Gray was best man and

the groomsmen were Mr. W. Thompson and Mr. D. Walker. Mr. E. Roberts and Mr. K. Rankine were ushers. The bridal party left the church to the pealing of the bells.

A reception folowed by a dance wa» hed at the Mayfair Cabaret, the rooms being decorated with Iceland r%ippies. The bride's mother wore a gown of lapis blue chiffon cut on Grecian lines with insets of parchment 'lace, and a hat to match. She carried a bouquet of red roses and pink carnations. She received the guests, assisted by the bridegroom's mother, who wore a becoming frock of brown lace with coatee to match, and carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers.

The bride travelled in a blue tunic frock trimmed with cherry braid, with small hat to match and accessories to tone.
