DE LUXE THEATRE.

Another Fine Programme.

In accord with its custom by which players are constantly given greater opportunity. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer presents Joseph Calleia in a new rolev this time as a hero instead of a villain. The picture is "Man of tha People," which opens tomorrow at tha De Luxe Theatre. The original story, a novel of the same title by Frank Dolan, ex-New York reporter, picture* a modern city and the. political machine which makes it go. Dolan wrota from first-hand knowledge and the picture follows his story. Calleia has tha best role of his career, which is saying a great deal. Florence Rice in the romantic role continues her steady ascent to stardom, unaided by her famous parent, Grantland Rice, the sports columnist. Ted Healy provides comedy, and a capable supporting cast includes Thomas Mitchell, Catharine Doucet, Paul Stanton. and Jonathan Hale. Sally Eilers and James Dunn, one of the screen's popular combinations, are teamed again in a sparkling comedydrama, Universal's "We Have Ouf Moments," the supporting feature. Treated in a light vein, developed with humorous situations and keen dialogue, the picture has been photographed against the gaiety and glamour of a transatlantic luxury liner and adventurous, romantic Monte Carlo. The cast includes such talent as Mischa Aver, of "My Man Godfrey," "Three Smart Girls," and "The Gay Desperado" fame; David Niven, Warren Hymer, Marjorie Gateson, Thurston Hall, Virginia Sale, Franklyn Pangborn, and Grady Sutton. A special added attraction will be the personal appearance of Mr. Gordon Paris, who will introduce to the Wellington public the Gibson all-electric guitar. Mr. Paris will play popular airs on this modern. instrument.
