AUCKLAND CLUB'S VISIT

The Ponsonby United (Auckland) Rugby League team will play a strengthened St. George side at Newtown Park on Saturday. Ponsonby, who were coached last season by A. h. Cooke. have some promising youthful talent, and have been playing attractive football this season. Arthur Kay is one of the outstanding centres in the game, and represented New Zealand against England and Australia while still in his teens. Brian >.iley is a New Zealand liveeighths, but this year has shown groat promise as a winger. W. Stockley, Auckland representative captain, is a "heady" player and one of the best attacking backs in the code. F. Halloran is another inside back of class The half-back, Black, previously played Rugby Union for Ponsonby, and looks a New Zealand player in the making. Nurse, MctCinney, and Jones, who are all youthful, have proved themselves prolific scoring men. The forwards are an experienced and sturdy lot. and include several representatives. The local team will be strengthened by the inclusion of J. Cootes, New Zealand representative, A. Broadhead, Auckland front-row forward, and L. Merson, Canterbury and Wellington representative. In addition, seven of the regular members of the St. George team have represented Wellington.
