The Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. L. Martin) will leave for the south tomorrow and will open ihe winter show at Timaru on Saturday afternoon. He will return by plane on Sunday, and on Monday will leave by car for the Waikato. He will be in Hamilton for the National Dairy Association's conference next week, and he will proceed from there through the Bay of Plenty district, returning to Wellington on July 4.
The Minister of Mines (the Hon. P. C. Webb) returned to Wellington from the south yesterday.
The Minister of Lands (the Hon. F. Langstone) returned to Wellington from Rotoruathis morning.
Mr. T. H. McCombs, M.P., arrived in Wellington from the South Island this morning.
The Hon. J. A. McCullough, M.L.C., was a passenger from the South Island this morning.
Mr. James Payne, Assistant Australian Trade Commissioner, will leave Wellington for Timaru tonight.
Mr. S. L. Gilkison, instructor for the Western Federated (N. 1.) Flying Club has been appointed a pilot on Cook Strait Airways Wellington-Blen-heim-Nelson service, and will sever his connection with the club on July 10, states a Wanganui report. Prior to taking up his duties with Cook Strait Airways, Mr. Gilkison will be employed by Union Airways for about a month and will qualify on the company's D.H. Express Airliners. Mr. Gilkison, before his appointment at Wanganui, was honorary instructor to the Southland Aero Club, where he received his training.

Messrs. J. K. Gilkin (Taumarunui), C. M. Newton (Southland), J. Dunlop (Edendale), H. Barnett (Dunediri), M. F. Woods (Invercargill), J. Park (Onehunga), J. !■'. Robson (Palmerston North), G. A. Colville (Auckland), and L. G. Walker (Christchurch) are guests at the Empire Hotel.
Messrs. A. Speedy and T. A. Duncan (Hunterville), R. Hudson and W. Sutherland (Auckland), J. Riddell (Palmerston North), and E. R. Sanderson (Christchurch) are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel.
Messrs. N. Donald and John Griffiths (Auckland), B. Armstrong (Dannevirke), Finlay Robb (Adelaide), E. McKee (United States), J. E. Sewell (Christchurch), Norwood Still (Sydney), Roger Roos and Roland Doppler (Paris) are at present staying at the Hotel St. George.
