In the women's sii\gles final at the West of England championships, Miss A. Lizana (Chile) beat Mrs. H. Sperling (Denmark), ,6-2, 9-7. In the women's singles final tit the Kent tennis championship, Miss J. Jedrzyowska (Poland) beat Miss Alice Marble (U.S.A.), 6-1, 9-1, 6-1.

In the men's singles final at the Kent championship, J. Yamagishi (Japan) beat C. R. D. Tuckey (England), 8-6, 4-6, 7-5.

In the Formby tennis tournament men's doubles final, J. H. Crawford and V. B. McGrath beat C. Sproule and J. BromWich, 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 3-6, 7-5.

In the mixed doubles, Sproule and Miss F. James beat Grandguillot (France) and Miss B. G. Beazley (Great Britain), 6-4, 6-4. Crawford and McGrath divided the men's singles owing to rain delaying the programme.
