HUTT VALLEY ASSOCIATION
A decision to combine both C and D grades in a knock-out competition was made at a meeting pf the management committee of the' Hutt Valley Cricket Association last evening.
The rules governing the competition, in which there is to be a special trophyv for the winners, are:—(l) The team batting first shall bat no longer than two hours; (2) the team scoring the greater number, of runs, regardless of the position, if the second team has not completed: an .innings, shall be declared the. ■ winners; (3) no points .will: be.. awarded.;-' (4) in the event of a tie the'match'1 is,:'to be decided on a ,toiss.iv.-:'> -o'^> ■•;::;;;;£;< ;>;

. The draw for-.'.theiflrs.f round of the knock-out competition for C and D grade players resulted as follows:— V.M.C.A... v.; Hibernians, Todd Motors (D) v. Gracefield, Trafalgar Park (D) v. Munt, Cottrell, Neilsen, Trafalgar Park (C) v; M.U. Oddfellows, Eastbourne v. Central, Metters United v. Taita. (C), Gear United v. Todd Motors (C), Taita (D) v. General Motors. ■' It was reported that General Motors arid Metters United respectively had headed the championships in the C and D grades. They will be officially declared the winners after the recording secretary has found their team slips in order.
