WOOL KEEPING FIRM
THE SALE AT DUNEDIN SOME HIGH PRICES REALISED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The second Dunedin wool sale opened this morning. The offering, which consists of 30,000 bales, is a particularly good one, with outstanding lots in both fine wools and crossbreds. In sympathy . with recent sales in other centres, there is a very strong demand for crossbred, which, compared with the first Dunedin* sale, 1 is fully firm and in some cases slightly dearer. Fine wools are also in good demand. A feature is a strong demand by local mills for good super halfbred, and prices include 264 d for a top line of Hilltop wool, with two other sales at and a further lot at 25d. The demand for crossbreds is fully distributed, with buying on account of America and Bradford. Japan is again a strong competitor for halfbred wool.
