TAINU! ARRIVES The Tnlnul, which arrived at Wellington this morning from London and Southampton, brought 148 passengers and a large consignment 1 , of motor vehicles for discharge at Wellington. She left Southampton on November 27, and fine weather was experienced during the whole voyage, although heavy gules in the North Atlantic and dense fogs in the English Channel had been prevalent shortly before the vessel s departure. Jamaica was reached early on December 11, and after coating the ship left the following day. The I'anama Canal was traversed nu December 14, a stay of several hours being made at Balboa. Tile Talnui arrived at I'itcalru Island shortly after midnight on Christmas Day, and the islanders were greatly pleased to see the decorations in the saloons and entrances. A large number of presents were collected from the purser, these being left by London friends. Cool, tine weather was experienced from the Canal onwards, keeping .up until the steamer's arrival in Wellington. The company recently installed 'talking pictures on the ship, also a short-wave win. / s system, and both have proved a great success. In addition to the passengers for New Zealand, the I'ainut has 48 for Australia, most of whom are touring New Zealand before going on to Australia.
