POLICEMAN'S ACTION

A FASCIST COMPLAINT (Received January 4, 10.10 a.m.) • LONDON, January 3. The British Union of Fascists has complained to the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Sir Philip Game, that a Metropolitan police sergeant on January 1 requested a Fascist to remove an armlet bearing the Fascist insignia. The Union contends that tha sergeant's action was illegal, and asks Sir Philip Game to order its discontinuance, obviating the Union starting proceedings in the High Court "to secure protection of personal tradition and liberties." The Commissioner, in response to another letter, refused to institute a test case regarding the legality of wearing a Black Shirt under a plain jacket.
