SUSPECT ARRESTED
MATTSON KIDNAPPING
RANSOM NEGOTIATIONS DELAYED TACOMA (U.S.A.), January 2. The police have arrested a suspect in the Mattson kidnapping case. The man is a former convict, aged 33, who resembles the abductor except that he has no noticeable accent. His name is not revealed. Meanwhile people close to the Mattson family state that the ransom negotiations have been delayed by the activities of an impostor posing as the kidnapper, creating uncertainty. The police and G-men are hindered by the multitude of clues, most of which are certainly worthless but must be investigated. The Mattson family has not established contact with the kidnapper, and their anxiety is growing. j
