YOUNG MAN DROWNED

ASHBURTON, This Day.
Samuel Barker, aged 21, eldest son of H. L. Barker, flourmiller, of Ashburton, was drowned yesterday while on a climbing excursion in the Rangitata Gorge. He was swept off his feet in the strong current of the Clyde River several miles above Erewhon station.
