THE CONVERSION LOAN
Holders of Government 4 per cent. Stock (1937-40) were given the opportunity to convert their holdings either into 3J per cent, securities, maturing in 1957, with an option to the Government to repay in four years earlier, or into 3 per cent, securities, maturing in 1941, with an option to the Government to repay two years earlier. The periods were stated in "The Post" as "twd" and "four" years respectively, in error..
