STUDIO EVENING
DANCING SEASON CLOSES
The close of the dancing season was celebrated by a gala at Miss Gwenethe Walshe's studio on Saturday evening, reluctantly, it seemed, for there was no lack of enthusiasm among the large number of pupils and friends who attended, and certainly no evidences o£ ennui.
The green walls of the studio made an ideal, background for bowls of roses and summer poppies and in the supper room mauve and white rhododendrons in generous-sized bowls were grouped artistically.
The guests were received by Miss Shirley Walshe who wore a frock of nymph green net and lace. Miss Moira Walshe's fro-:k of white Swiss muslin was patterned with coin spots of blue and black.
An unusual and most interesting event was the "shooting" of a film, the studio resembling for a a short space a typical Hollywood set with its surround oi arc lights and cameras. Dance music was provided by an excellent orchestra.
Novelty dances were won by Miss jJ. Caughlan and Mr. Martin (rainbow novelty) and Miss Betty Sotham and 'Mr. Basil Didsbury ("Lucky Spot").
Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Walshe, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Fielder, Mr. and Mrs. R. Mason, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hill, Flag-Lieutenant and Mrs. E. A. Gibson.
